If you're looking for a low maintenance houseplant with one of the longest bloom times of any plant, then anthuriums are for you. These plants like bright, indirect light, meaning they flourish in the fluorescent light of an office or an east/north facing window. Perfect for people who prefer minimum care plants, anthuriums only need watering once a week. Try one to add a bright spot of colour to a plain room.
Care Instructions:
Sun: Bright, indirect light or morning sun. It can tolerate low light, but will grow slower and have fewer flowers.
Water: Allow to dry out in between watering. Can easily suffer from root rot, so water once the soil has begun to feel dry for the first inch down
Fertilizer: Dilute a fertilizer meant for flowers (15-30-15) down to 1/4 strength and feed once every 2-3 months
Humidity and Temperature: Prefers around 20°-30° C, but can tolerate as low as 7°. Anthuriums need 50% humidity, so spray them frequently with water if they are not in a humid environment
